Erwin Schrödinger Visiting Scientist 2023

Gian Francesco Giudice (CERN, Genf) is our visiting scientist in 2023

After 3 years of Corona time out we can, with the kind support of the Cultural Section of the City of Vienna (MA7), host this year Gian Francesco Giudice as the Erwin-Schrödinger Visiting Scientist 2023.

Gian Francesco Giudice received his PhD in 1988 at the International School of Advanced Studies in Triest. After Postdoc years at Fermilab and the University of Texas in Austin, where he worked with Steven Weinberg, he made research as a staff member at the  Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare. In 1993 he became a staff member at the theory division at CERN. Currently he is the head of the theory division.

The research interests of Gian Giudice are mostly in the area of physics beyond the Standard Model and cosmology.

He was at the particle physics group between June 5th and 16th, and also in fall 2023. He gave four presentations:
